Inspect your toilet to see if there are any possible leaks. To check for leaks, use food coloring. About six drops of food coloring that's added to the tank of the water closet will help you determine if there are any. If there's a leak, color will be visible in the toilet bowl after about half an hour.

I am changing over from an electric range to a gas one, so I need a gas line installed from the outside tanks to my range; about 30’ or flexible coated stainless steel corrugated pipe. Is there any way I can save $$ by buying the pipe and accessories, so the plumber doesn’t have to charge the 20% on top? I guess the unions have burrowed deep into the permitting department, preventing homeowners from doing this work themselves, but it would be nice if I could do the work, put it under pressure, and have an inspector come bless it. Oh well, I guess I have no choice. Can you give me an idea how much this work would cost? Up the outside wall, into the attic, over 18’, down the wall cavity, through the cabinets 8’, terminate with a shutoff valve.

I didn't know that plumbing repairs can cost a thousand dollars. My water heater is busted. It's spewing water everywhere.
